Lucius walked to his mother’s palace. It was as grand as the main palace where he resided.

The vast garden filled with spring flowers surrounded the front palace. The scenery in front of the Dowager Queen’s palace looked stunning.

“Any agenda we need to prepare for you to meet the Dowager Queen? Your Majesty?” One of his aides asked him. He could not hide his astonishment at why the King visited his mother in broad daylight like this out of the blue.

“Why? Because of the filial duty, of course,” Lucius smirked.

His Beta, Shiraz, coughed as if to disguise his chortle.

“Stop it, Shiraz!” he said to his Beta.

“Yes, Your Majesty,” Shiraz complied.

“I think you need to give the Queen a gift. She would be surprised if her beloved son gave her something. I am sure she will treasure it,” Shiraz gave him advice.
