Chapter 16: Kayla Reid

The first challenge course is set deep in the heart of the dark, dense forest just a little far away from campus buildings but still in school grounds.

The first team of werewolves is crouched at the starting line. Their eyes are gleaming with a fierce determination as they wait for the signal to begin. I will be in the second team to enter the challenge. My sister is in the first team but I can’t see her because we have to stay far until it’s our turn to start. I haven’t even looked who is in the same team as me because of how nervous I am. For the first challenge we are not allowed to shift. So this should be fun.

As soon as the signal is given, the first team charges off into the night, their powerful muscles propelling them forward with incredible speed. Damn. Looks like I’m not the only one gunning for the top spot.
