"What's so interesting about me?!" I asked.

I did not like the suspicious look in his eyes, one minute he was calm and attentive and now he looked like a lion about to feed on his prey.

He stood up from his seat opposite me and walked closer to where I was, leaning on the desk and gazed intensely at me.

"You see, while Peter, who you just accused, actually had an alibi, and not just one, because he was out with friends and quite a lot of people confirmed that, you on the other hand have none," he pointed out.

And we were back to this again! Why was it so hard for them to see that I could not even imagine hurting Vanessa. They thought so little of me and it seems there was this mistrust that came with my wealth.

I thought detective Cole would know better than to have such ideas but apparently I was wrong.
