Ivan’s POV

“No.” I let out, it felt as though everything happening around me stopped for a moment as I saw Lexi’s body hit the ground.

Groaning, I tried to stand, my head hurts so much from the hit I took but it would be worse if I ever lose Lexi.

I tried to run after the car that had my kids hauled away but I didn’t have the strength to do that either. I should’ve known that something like this was bound to happen.

I should’ve known that she was going to do this and I shouldn’t have taken her escape from the police with leniency.

Kneeling beside Lexi, I carried her and placed her on my lap. She was losing too much blood and her eyes weren't opening.

Why does this have to happen today of all days.

“Call an ambulance or the police, damnit!” I yelled at the shocked audience who were waiting to see what I was going to do next.
