BAB 129 I An Argument

When Jaxon entered the safe house, the atmosphere changed dramatically.

There was no sign of Mia. He was silent for a few moments, but based on Alex’s report that there was something urgent, Jaxon rushed home from the Red Cages.

“Can you tell me where my wife is right now?” Jaxon approached Emily, who was in the living room.

The woman lowered her gaze as she noticed Jaxon’s cold expression.

“She’s by the pool,” Emily said, leading Jaxon down the corridor to the backyard.

The man accelerated his pace and arrived at his destination in a flash.

He halted when he noticed Mia sitting by the pool, her legs dangling into the water. Jaxon approached her with caution. But she could still hear him through the sound of his loafers’ heels hitting the floor.

Mia abruptly said, “I want to be alone,” as he stood beside his wife. In a low tone, her head is lowered, and her bare feet are playing with the water, causing small ripples all around.
