Crossfire 16

I don't know how long I've been lying on the dirty floor of this warehouse. The faint smell of oil and blood still lingers in the air. I slowly open my eyes as my breathing returns to normal, although my entire body still feels weak.

Alice is sitting on an old table not far from where I'm lying. She's watching me, propping her chin up with one hand.

"How long was I asleep?" I ask, feeling a little confused. I seem to remember hearing Nicholas Shaw's voice, but it was only faintly. I try to sit up, looking around the warehouse. There's no one here but us.

What I saw and felt before now feels like a dream. I turn to Alice again. "What happened to me just now?" I ask, still puzzled.

"You licked my blood," Alice says shortly. My forehead furrows when I hear that. I do remember licking a little bit of blood from her lips...

Alice gets down from the table she's been sitting on and walks over to me, holding out her hand to help me stand up. I feel dizzy as I get up next to her, like I've jus
