"For you."

Her answer made me stunned but I tried to control myself and continued to park her car in the basement. When I turned off the engine, I turned in my seat to look at her sitting next to me.

"For me?" I repeated, still not understanding. I gazed at her long, thick lashes, momentarily distracted by her face. Again.

"They think you're someone valuable to me," she whispered in the darkness. Although it was afternoon, the basement parking lot was dark enough. A strong desire to kiss her suddenly arose within me.

This woman was truly dangerous for me and my sanity. I could never think clearly when I was near her. Alice showed no expression, but her eyes that were watching me seemed interested when I tried to control myself, holding back my desire to pull her head then kiss her deeply until we both ran out of breath.

"Is their assumption correct?" I asked, whispering too. "Am I currently valuable to you?"
