Suddenly, the sound of a door being slammed shut overpowered my screams. Carleon immediately removed his mouth from my neck and looked up to see who had arrived.

"Printsessa!" he exclaimed with enthusiasm.

I could still feel the burning and weakness in my body, but I tried to lift my head to see who had just entered. My neck was still wet with the blood that was flowing from my wounds caused by his fangs.

"Alice," he said, still beside me, "I'm sorry, but I have to kill you tonight."

Alice stood near the door with Erik. She was still wearing her red dress, but this time, she roughly tied her golden hair back... as usual. The tip of her katana was peeking out from behind her back. Erik was wearing a suit, looking very neat from head to toe. Unlike Alice, who seemed to be focused solely on Carleon, Erik's gaze had been fixed on me since he arrived.

"Vlad sends his regards," Carleon muttered beside me. "Don't be offended. I'm only following your father's orders... "
