Lea’s point of view:
I got the feeling like I was being watched. I could feel his gaze on my back. He was waiting for me.
Just turn around, Lea! I chided.
I furiously wiped my cheeks to get rid of those tears. I sniffed and gulped as I willed myself to stop crying.
I courageously turned and found him already sitting with his arms crossed over his chest. He was staring at me with a blank look on his face. The courage I felt earlier dissipated like a puddle of water.
That blank look can be anything. He was just masking his emotion with that look. I could not make out what he was feeling at that moment.
Was it anger, disdain, curiosity or suspicion? Wait, what? Why will he feel suspicious of me? I was going insane with all those stress. I needed to get rid of my anxiety. I needed to push that feeling out of my mind before it could have complete control over my entire body.
I needed to forget and push it deep into o
Lea’s point of view:“You can talk to me when you are ready.” He added with a wink.A smile crawled its way up my face. I couldn’t stop that smile from making an appearance. I nodded with a smile. His eyes widened for a split second before shifting back to that signature smirk of his. I could have sworn that I saw his posture going stiff before starting to relax again. His eyes were fixed on my face.I would have missed it if I was not already staring at him.I slowly rubbed my arms when I felt goose bumps erupting on my exposed skin.Ryder’s gaze shifted down at my arms before looking back at me.“Come with me.” He said while standing up.“Where?” I asked and stood up too.“Upstairs.” He simply said as he stretched his arms out wide and groaned.“Tired from school?” I questioned.Whenever I opened my mouth to say
Lea’s point of view: My belly fluttered. I couldn’t help but swoon at his actions. I was deeply touched. “I-I can do it.” I tried to take the hair dryer from his hand but he shook his head and moved the hair dryer away from my reach. “No, you will hurt your wrists. You forgot what the doctor said?” he asked and raised an eyebrow questioningly at me. He focused back on drying my hair when I averted my eyes away from his firm gaze. I pulled my arms back by my sides and let Ryder blow dry my hair. The doctor told me that I should not apply pressure on my wrists for another week but they were getting better. I remember wincing in pain earlier when I was taking a shower. I tried squeezing some bathing gel out of its tube but successfully managed to get a little bit after multiple tries. “Here you go.” He turned the hair dryer off, removed its plug out of the sockets and pulled back to put it back insid
He must be craving for some ice-cream.I couldn’t help but giggle at the look on his face. The way his eyes lit up as he stared at me was enough to confirm that he really liked ice-cream. Maybe it was his favorite dessert? I thought.“Uh, about that… uh, let’s just go get some ice-cream.” He said sheepishly while rubbing the back of his neck.He sounded embarrassed.I swore that I caught a slight redness making a swift appearance on his cheeks. It disappeared before I could discern whether he was really blushing or not. It might have been my mind playing some tricks on me.“Okay.” I agreed to cut him some slacks. He was already unsettled. I shouldn’t be making him more uneasy.I bit my lower lip to stop the smile forcing its way out from showing up but I guess he noticed how I was trying to hold it in.“Come on now, do you really have to make it that obvious?&
“Come on, get on.” He glanced over his left shoulder before looking at me.“Hell no!” I exclaimed as I took a quick step back.I was no longer going to pretend that I was not afraid of this thing. He reached for me but I moved away.“Just get on, Lea.” He shouted over the engine sound.Should I? I thought as I bit my lower lip.“I’ll go slow.” He added but I couldn’t trust him.He seemed too fond of his motorcycle. I observed the way he relished in the revving of its engine just a few seconds ago.“Trust me.” He declared.I sighed, grabbed onto Ryder’s shoulders, and lifted my left leg a little bit to stand on the left peg before swinging my right leg over the motorcycle. What could go wrong?I spoke too soon. The moment I sat behind him, he revved the engine, driving off before quickly pressing on the brakes causing
The moment I tasted the ice cream I had chosen, I felt giddy.I immediately took another bite of the delicious dessert and moaned in pleasure.“Can I have a bite?” Ryder asked.I glanced up to find him already staring at me.When my eyes got locked with him, he gulped and an unfamiliar emotion flashed in his eyes.He licked his lips as his eyes took in the yummy ice cream in front of me. His did not look as mouth-watering as mine. It was plain while mine had some pieces of chocolate chips. The chocolate bits tasted heavenly and somewhat bitter, must be dark chocolate.I nodded as I slowly pushed the cup towards him but he pushed it back.He opened his mouth eagerly. My eyes widened in surprise. He wanted me to feed him?I plunged my spoon into the frozen part of it, got a small scoop of my ice cream and hesitantly fed him. Before the spoon even reached his mouth, he leaned over and licked the ic
Once we reached home, I head up to Ryder’s bedroom and got my remaining stuffs from there. He stayed down to watch some TV.It was already nearing ten o’clock at night.I sighed in relief as soon as I sat down on the bed in my new room.Ryder had surprising ridden his motorcycle at a considerate speed on our way back home.My mind flashed back to what he said to me then.I had just gotten off his bike when he commented with a smirk.“So, how was the ride?” He asked me with a smirk. Was that going to be the only emotion I will ever get from him? I thought.“I’m still never gonna ride this thing.” I muttered with a shrug.“I knew you enjoyed riding this right here. I bet you would want to ride it back someday.” He winked at me as he tapped the seat before getting off.I felt my belly and heart flutter in anticipation.I shook my head to get rid of h
I panicked as I felt myself gasping for air. My legs thrashed around while I tried to slap my father’s hands away. His hold on me only tightened. I felt my head pinched with pain as he pulled some strands of my hair harshly.I kept thrashing around, in hope that I might escape his wrath.“Please dad -” I screamed in pain when he threw me down by the small squared table in the middle of the arranged sofas. This time, I heard my voice. I did not hesitate to scream and yell for help as I tried to escape my father’s grasp. He caught my hair once again and knocked my head into the table.I felt dizzy as my belly churned with pain.I could feel something warm sliding down the side of my face. Blood!I tasted the metallic taste of it once it reached the side of my lips.My hysterical screams soon turned into wailing sobs. The moment he caught my shoulders, I tried to shake his hands off of me but
I grabbed his arm from around my waist and slowly lifted it up as I moved away from under it. I bit my lower lip to stop myself from wincing out in pain. I felt like I got hit by a truck. My body muscles screamed the moment I moved. That nightmare drained me out so much that I could still feel the aftermath of it on my body.I glanced back at his face to find him frowning.I stilled before laying his arm down on the bed.He immediately turned around towards me to lie down on his stomach. I quickly got out of his way. His face burrowed deeper into the pillow as his left arm went under it.He looked so cute in his sleep.I stood up when his right arm landed on the pillow I had slept on.I had surprisingly slept well last night after waking up from that nightmare. I rushed into the bathroom as quietly as possible. The moment I glanced at myself in the mirror, I gasped. I looked horrible. My hair looked a mess like a bird’s n
