Chapter 52

“Come on, get on.” He glanced over his left shoulder before looking at me.

“Hell no!” I exclaimed as I took a quick step back.

I was no longer going to pretend that I was not afraid of this thing.

He reached for me but I moved away.

“Just get on, Lea.” He shouted over the engine sound.

Should I? I thought as I bit my lower lip.

“I’ll go slow.” He added but I couldn’t trust him.

He seemed too fond of his motorcycle. I observed the way he relished in the revving of its engine just a few seconds ago.

“Trust me.” He declared.

I sighed, grabbed onto Ryder’s shoulders, and lifted my left leg a little bit to stand on the left peg before swinging my right leg over the motorcycle.  

What could go wrong?

I spoke too soon.
