Waiting for Nothing

I don't know for how long I have been lying on the stretcher but my body seems to have recovered from the trauma earlier. My arms and legs are no longer shaking similar to what happened back nearby the cliff.

No one is in the room as well. The last thing I remembered is that Charles punched Mr. Bridgerton in the face while debating about either killing me or not for knowing about the secrets on the island.

My heart is beating gradually. I can hear them loud and clear. And I can feel the warm air that comes out of my mouth and nose. It simply means I am still alive. But, what changed their minds?

"Was it because of Charles?" I uttered to myself while scanning the entire room.

"Doesn't matter." says my conscience. "I have to get out of the island as soon as possible."

So I hop out of the stretcher and sneak out of the room with profound caution until I reached the main exit of the mansion.
