We didn’t come with that car. We left it at the house.” Mia said.

Claus and Carol exchanged serious glances, both reaching for their guns, their training and instincts kicking in. They moved silently to the door, strategizing on how to overpower whoever might be on the other side, expecting it to be one of their enemies.

Carol looked out through the window. There is a man at the door. She gave Claus signs that they both understood.

With their backs to the wall, they positioned themselves to each side of the door, ready to make their move. Mia watched nervously, her heart racing.

Claus signaled to Mia to get down. She was standing at the center of the living room.

As the bell continued to ring, Claus and Carol shared a nod, silently agreeing to open the door together. They counted to three, and with swift precision, Claus swung the door open while Carol pointed her gun outward.
