In the kitchen, Ella put on her apron before she started to maneuver around. Daniel stood at the door and watched her with an interesting gaze. It was like he could not get enough of her.

Ella looked at the man who was watching her like she was something incredible and cleared her throat before saying, “Why are you just standing there? Come and help me wash the vegetables.”

Daniel smiled and walked into the kitchen. He said in a complaining voice, “I thought that you would never ask.”

“I did not ask because I know that you don’t like going near the kitchen. Do you even know how to boil water?”

“Don’t look down on me. I have learned a lot of things in the past few years. I am not the same person you used to know back then.”

“That, I agree.”

In between their bantering, dinner was ready in no time. What shocked Ella was the fact that Daniel was not blabbering when he said that he knew how to cook. He had actually made a few dishes and they looked tantalizing.
