Chapter 18 (Wonders Of Nature)

George’s POV

As night fell, her health worsened, sending shivers of fear down my spine. Hastily, I fetched a cold towel, hoping to relieve her fever.

“How much did you endure in this job?” I whispered, my concern noticeable.

A mere "Hmm" escaped Lyra's lips, betraying the depth of her suffering.

I tended to her through the night, determined to ease her discomfort before the break of dawn signalled the start of a new day. The urge to summon the doctor tugged at me.

"George, there's no need to call him," Lyra croaked weakly.

"But what else can we do?" I pleaded, refusing to loosen my grip on her hand.

"I'm a werewolf, he doesn't grasp the complications of my biology. Running in our wolf form speeds up the healing process," she explained, her voice strained with pain.

"But you can't shift here. Should we head to the cottage?" I suggested, seeking a solution.
