Chapter 26: Runaways

Selene's pov.

I looked up at my father confused. I had no idea what to make of the words I had just read.

“Ok, ok it's not that bad.” Darius said, “I don't get what all the major fuss was about.

Gabriel shook his head and cupped his eyebrows tiredly.

“This is isn't just it.” Magnus explained, “She is the doom of her kind, of everything like her.” He looked at me with eyes of pity.

I hated that, and I hated what was going on in front of me.

“So what do we do?” I asked, “I don't want to end up being killed because you guys don't want the prophecy coming to pass.”

“If we wanted you dead we would have left you in town with the wolves,” Gabriel said tiredly. He collapsed on the chair behind him and rubbed his hands together.

“It's so fucking cold here.” He complained.

“Something here does not make sense.” Darius said, “The prophecy spoke of three mountains and tree rivers.”

“Three streams.” Gabriel corrected. “The prophecy contains so cryptic words.” He shook his head. Three mountain
