Chapter 82: Frustrated but not deterred

Magnus's pov

"I'm sorry." She quickly said. She did not have to be, though. I was the one who was at fault; I should have known sooner; I should have sensed she was in danger.

"It's OK. Let's go." I muttered tiredly. We stumble out of the house slowly and walk into the night.

She was struggling under my weight, so I tried to restrain myself from putting my entire weight on her.

"Ughh." She whimpered in pain. No, I could not go on.

"Stop, you have to go to town on your own," I said.

She turned and stared at Me with those eyes. Fear was sketched over the contour of her face.

"We must protect her." My wolf whispered to me.

I smiled despite the pain. We could not even protect ourselves.

"I can't leave you here alone." She said, I pulled my hand away and landed heavily on the ground. "Ugh!" I groaned.

"Magnus!!" She yelled, her voice carrying emotions I wanted to believe was more than care and fear for my life because what I felt was more than that.
