Luca POV

Leaving Eliana in that hot tub, her body shaking with passion, was possibly one of the hardest things I'd had to do in a while. But I knew I had to. I couldn't cave into the weakness, no matter how much I craved her.

My life was in danger, and there was no denying it anymore. I rubbed the freshly healed wound on my bicep where the bullet had grazed my flesh a week ago, worry creasing my brow.

I needed to remain unbreakable, and even I had to admit that the woman had the potential to chip away at the hard exterior I maintained. She was my mate, even though I had rejected her, she still had power over Bruno, and therefore me.

I walked through the master suite, not caring if I dripped water all over the pristine white carpet. Vasilios's gamma and his bimbo girlfriend would just have to deal with the wet footprints.
