Chapter 25

Eliana POV

I dreamed of him that night. Of his hands roaming my body, of his breath against my neck, his lips on mine. It was intoxicating.

And completely unwelcomed.

Bleary eyed, I stumbled into the dining room where the staff which manned the accommodation had set up a buffet. Cassie was already seated at the table, a mug of coffee seemingly untouched in her hands as she stared down at it.

“Good morning,” I croaked and pulled out a chair opposite her.

There was no response from her. It was like she didn't even register that I was there, her mind in some far off place. I sat down and poured myself a cup of coffee from the pot which stood on an ornate tray in the centre of the large, oak table.

“I didn't see you come in!” Cassie exclaimed, jumping slightly in her chair with fright.

“I noticed,” I smiled weakly while taking a sip of coffee. “Are you okay?”

She shook her head, her eyes brimming with tears before she quickly looked down at her coffee again.

That was a funny chapter. I do feel bad for Laryssa, she bought the outfit for Cassie’s dad, but made a terrible mistake.
