Chapter 1

        Shirley

Sadness was written on my face as I sat on the bed sadly. I sighed heavily as I thought of how my life would be after today. I couldn't believe this would happen.

Today should have been one of my happiest days on earth, but it wasn't. I couldn't believe this was happening so soon.

Today is my twenty-first birthday, but I'm not happy. I'm not happy because I overheard my father telling his beta that the feast and the birthday are like a send-off party for me. I couldn't believe he would do this to me. He wanted to sell me to another country because he hated me and wanted to be on good terms with them.

I treat him like a father, but he treats me like a murderer. He blamed me for killing his wife. Who happens to my mother?

My mother died after she gave birth to me, and she named me Shirley before she took her last breath. She ordered them to give me her necklace, which is the only thing that reminds me of her. I have no picture of her nor do I have a portrait. My father hated me to the extent that he made the maids destroy every picture and portrait of me. My father treats me like nobody, but I couldn't believe that my biological father would want to sell me.

It hurts me whenever I remember that my mother died giving birth to me; it hurts me whenever I remember that my mother died because of me. I was told that when my father heard about the incident, he almost killed me when I was an hour old. I was told that he strangled me but was stopped, and he had to fetch a screwdriver, which happened to be used to draw a mark on my back. The mark is still there, and I knew that would be the only thing I used to remember him when he was gone.

I always feel guilty whenever I'm close to him, and that is because I also believed that I was responsible for my mother's death. My dad's hatred for me keeps growing each second whenever I'm close to him. Sometimes he nearly beats me to death, and I couldn't help but blame myself for the death of my mother. I feel guilty for being my mother's daughter. I'm also thinking of running away, and whenever I tried doing that, my conscience would not allow me to do such a thing, and I would feel like I owed him a big time.

Now I blame myself for not escaping when I have the chance; if I did, this wouldn't happen to me. I couldn't help but be myself with everything that was happening.

I wish the Moon Goddess had let my mother live and taken my life instead. I knew that things would not have been like this if the Moon Goddess had let my mother live. I knew that my mother would still have the chance of bearing another child if I had died in place of her.

Since I was born, my father has never loved or cherished me like other fathers do for their children. I couldn't believe my father was going to sell because he wanted to maintain a peaceful alliance with the pack.

I don't see the reason why he would hate me so much; I knew my mother died because she wanted to give birth to me, but he should have loved and cherished me because he is the only relative I have.

I had lost hope in life. I don't know the reason why I'm still alive; I don't know the reason why the moon goddess keeps me alive. I don't know the purpose of my life.

It's now nighttime, and I knew with no doubt that the guests would have arrived at the party. I knew that my dad would soon send a maid to get me to come down for the feast he had prepared. I was at least glad that he still considered my feelings by having this send-off party. I knew that he wasn't concerned about me, but deep down, I always wanted him to be nice to me for just once, but the hatred

Suddenly I heard a knock on the door that jolted me out of my thoughts. I needed no one to tell me it was the maid my father sent to call me. I knew it was time for me to party, and I knew that things that I don't want to talk about would be done to me. I stood up from the bed, and I walked out of the room with a fake smile on my face.

“Tell my father we are taking a walk in the garden,” I said to the maid who had come to call me before going away with my handmaid. I walked around with my maid, who is giving me a tour of the garden. and I inhaled and exhaled the fresh air, feeling happy with it. I knew this might be the last day I will have peace of mind.

My dad had decided not to trouble me since today was the day I would be sold off. It was my guess, but I knew that was what he wanted, and I have decided to spend it to the fullest. I don't know what to expect from my new pack starting tomorrow. I knew that I should be expecting more from the pack I will be joining.

What I knew about my new pack was that it was more brutal than this one. I had made up my mind not to let them see my tears.

I don't know what I will face when I go meet my new pack. But they are not going to see my tears, no matter what they do to me. I knew my father knew about the brutality of my new pack, but he wanted to sell it to me.

He doesn't care whether I live or die; I stare around the garden with adoration. I'm smiling from ear to ear. I knew this would be my last time coming here, and it might be my last time going to a place like this.

I was suddenly unable to breathe as the air changed drastically, and I could smell a string of auras hovering over the place, and I could feel a cold demeanor emitting from the place. I breathe in the fresh air with a deep smile on my face. I could feel my body tingle, and I could feel my wolf coming back. My wolf, who has been hiding for years, knew that she couldn't come back like that without a reason.

My wolf is ashamed of me for being the killer of my mother, even though she knew everything that had happened to me. I could see my wolf squealing with happiness. What has happened to make my wolf happy like this? There is something about it that makes my wolf happy. I was confused about it until I heard the word.

"Mate," the wolf said, and I could feel how happy she was. "Mate,” I repeated with a bright smile on my face.

"I think I have found my savior." I whispered as my mind suddenly filled with joy and happiness.

I looked around deeply while sniffing the intoxicating smell of vanilla and cherries, which had suddenly become my favorites overnight. I sniffed in the air and was looking around the garden, trying to find him, with a smile on my face. My mouth was agape when I saw him.

He was the most handsome man I had ever seen. I could feel my feet moving on their own accord with a radiant smile plastered on my face. I was happy that I finally found my mate, and I guess he was also happy because he had a deep smile on his face, which made him more handsome. I finally found my savior tonight; he will save me from my father, and I won't be sold anymore. I was so excited that I had finally found my mate. I couldn't take my eyes off him.

"Princess, I think it's high time we leave and go to the hall because we don't want to get on your dad's bad side.” I heard the voice of the maid, which jolted me out of my thoughts.

I knew after he found out that we are mates that he would save me and take me to his pack, and I would live a peaceful life there like I had hoped for years. I couldn't believe I had found my mate. He would take me to his pack.

My wolf that had been hidden for many years came out because of its mate; if not for his mate, she wouldn't have come out, so disgusting.

I stared at my maid and returned my gaze to my mate, only to see the smile on his face had wiped off. His face dropped in disappointment. I felt my heart skip a beat. At that moment, the smile on my face changed immediately. I didn't know what had happened. I knew he was my mate, but I didn't know why he had a disappointed look on his face. What did I do wrong?

I didn't do anything wrong, so why did he have a disappointed look on his face?

“I have a fiance already, and I can't ditch her for you; I don't want you as my mate, okay?”

“We can't be mates; I have a fiance already, and I'm not interested in you by any chance." "You should act like we aren't friends,” my friend said.
