Sixty Nine

MELINA’S POV

My heart ached as I sat in the crowd and pretended everything was fine when I had just lost my child, a tragedy that has weakened me. I still felt the pain like an invisible chain around my neck.

Alpha stood up to address the packmate in replacement of me. He told them to feast and dine.

My eyes were on the alpha when he was making the announcement. A lot of thoughts ran through my mind as I asked myself a lot of rhetorical questions.

Was the alpha a monster? Does he really love me or pretend to do?

I felt down cause the alpha didn't act like we just lost our child, but he was perfectly fine.

But I deserve the right to mourn the death of my child. After all, I was a mother.

Perhaps he doesn’t feel the pain of this loss like I do. He was acting like a monster.

Alpha came back to sit beside me after addressing the packmate. It was time to dine, and I refused to eat my food then he tried to use his power on me.
