Twenty Seven

Alpha Dwane's POV

I sat at the head of the ceremony hall, surrounded by my esteemed guests, discussing politics and other serious matters. My attention was divided, however, my eyes kept wandering to Melina.

She had a natural grace that could not be ignored, and her dress clung to her curves in a way that made my heart skip a beat each time I stared at her.

As I spoke with my guests, I couldn't help but steal a glance in Melina's direction every now and then. Her beauty was like a magnet, pulling my gaze toward her again and again.

But just as I was about to lose myself in her charm once more, she walked towards me, leaned in, and whispered in my ear.

"Excuse me, Dwane, I'm going to slip away for a moment and change into something more comfortable. These heels are killing me." She said, her voice barely audible over the din of the crowd.
