Jacob tapped his pen on his table impatiently as he watched Kathleen from the adjacent side of the employee's lounge, conversing happily with Grant—his coworker and mortal enemy, but she didn't know the mortal enemy part, eating her lunch which was a Cesar salad from the cafe across the street.

Seeing her look so unfazed about the fact that they weren't together anymore broke him, how he would always have his arms around her waist and feed her lunch, the opportunity to graft her morning smell whilst using bringing her coffee as an excuse —he could no longer do that now and as she was laughing with his coworker for some reason unbeknownst to him, here he was sulking and unable to eat the sandwich his mother packed him.

‘You're bound to get over it sooner or later '. Ophelia muttered under her breath as she sat next to him.
