An exasperated sigh escaped my lips as I sank into the bed and looked across the room.

I could vividly remember that I kept the book somewhere in the room. Moreover, I had hidden it properly because I didn’t want anyone to catch sight of the type of book I found in the library.

So, who took it away from here?

I jerked up and went over to the bed, scattering the bedspread and duvet just as I hoped that the book would drop. But then, there was not a single sign of it.

It was clear…someone had stolen it.

“What the hell!” I cursed under my breath as I bit my lower lips and smashed my foot on the ground. I winced in pain, but that wasn’t enough pain compared to the one I felt in my heart each time it dawned on me that someone might have gotten a wind of the secret.
