CHAPTER NINETEEN: THE THIEF HAS FEW HOURS LEFT

KATIE’S POV

They say mistakes are bound to happen, but who thought mine would happen this often?

I placed my face between my palms as I exhaled deeply.

Deep down, I knew I shouldn't be doing this, but all the same, I adjusted my ruffled skirt while fiddling with my buttons simultaneously.

Oh shit!

One of the buttons was broken.

Blaze was too rough; he was always impatient. It was not like I didn’t find it hot, but now it left me with a broken button and almost getting caught by James.

I had forgotten to lock the door because he was supposed to be gone immediately after the meeting, but just like the demon he was, he didn’t leave, and I couldn’t keep my stoic composure up for more than two minutes.

I had warned him sternly not to come close because I didn’t want it to happen again for the third time this week. I wanted to prove to him that I still had dignity, but I failed. I always did when it came to him.
