Author's Note.
Hello dear reader, Favour here, the author of My Unlovable Boss.I'd like to start by thanking every single one of you who gave my story a chance. It means the world to me to know there are people out there who read my story. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing and more.
Feedback, likes, comments, shares and story ratings are very much appreciated! I'd love to read your thoughts and communicate with you all through comments so don't be shy. I am quite eager to interact with you all!
I have been on a year hiatus and in my time away a lot happened that forced me to put the story on hold but I am happy to share the news of my return with you all. I can't wait to release new chapters and complete the story as well, it's about time after all.
I will be making a few changes such as the names of the characters (save for the Main Female Lead) and the location of the story. There are many new chapters included in the start as well and a lot of grammatical errors have been fixed.
I encourage you all to have a reread of the story, I promise it's not what it used to be and even more delightful, don't take my word for it though. Read it yourself and testify. I am always open to constructive criticism so please don't hold back on giving some.
However, I have zero tolerance for hate speech so if my story doesn't work for you please kindly stop reading. Being hateful helps neither you nor me and brings my morals down a lot. Thank you.
If you made it this far, I appreciate you! Here's a little bit about myself. my name is Favour. I am a 21-year-old medical student in my 2nd year. I love reading novels and WEBTOONs, I enjoy watching anime and Korean dramas too. I am a big fan of K-pop and my favourite YouTubers are the Sturniolo Triplets.
Thank you for reading this far. I want to reward those who made it this far-- comment your favourite movie of all time. I'll be watching!
Since I disappeared for so long, I'm hoping to have the first nine chapters FREE. Only the first four were free before, but I'll open up more chapters. It's my way of being sorry and thankful to everyone for giving My Unlovable Boss a chance.
This way you also get the chance to learn more about them and have the choice to learn more about their story of your own volition. I can't express how happy I'll be when people pay to continue with the story.
Currently, I have 2.2k reads! Super excited to see how much we'll grow from here on out.

Although she might never know I did since she’s not one to read books, especially ones as long as this. Angel, if you’re reading this by chance, thank you for pushing and supporting me daily. You were there to motivate and inspire me several times in the journey of this story. My Unlovable Boss exists today only because of your ceaseless nagging, and I appreciate it more than you will ever know.
I also want to thank my mum for giving me the drive and emotional support I needed as I wrote as well as my closest friend, Dozie. Thank you for supporting me through my saddest, most challenging, happiest, funniest and most irking moments, I love you. To the others who could not be mentioned and the readers, I say a big, big, BIG thank you. My Unlovable Boss is my first romance novel and my second written novel. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when creating it.
If you made it this far comment your favourite novel of all time.
Lie Blu’s Apartment. Third Person.“What would it take to convince you to go out with me?!” Ha Na groaned as she watched her best friend, Ae Ra, tirelessly type away at her computer. Her long light-brown hair was tucked behind her ears and big round glasses rested on her straight nose covering half of her small heart face. Her round pink lips were tucked into her mouth in concentration, her doe brown eyes trained on the MacBook as she ignored her friend. She was dressed in a pair of matching white joggers and had a froggo headband seated cross-legged on the wooden floor “Earth to Ae Ra? Do you hear me?!” Ha Na waved her arms in an attempt to gain her friend’s attention. She’s been at it since she arrived and knew she wouldn’t budge from that spot all weekend if she didn’t intervene.“I’m sure we can go some other day,” Ae Ra replied, not taking her eyes off her Macbook. She loved spending time with her best friend, Ha Na, but she had work to do and a bigger part of her didn’t feel li
Lie Blu’s Apartment.Ae Ra’s POV.Regret has always been inevitable, at some point in our lives we get hit with it and right now I’ve been hit with a heavy dose of it. I grabbed my head gently with a raspy cry. I could feel my veins pulsing and throbbing, it felt like my head was going to explode. The sunlight that streamed in through my curtains did nothing to help. My stomach had a painful and burning sensation gnawing at me and my throat was dry as the Sahara desert begging for water. I moaned in pain as I curled into a ball, my body ached starting from my waist up to my neck. What happened last night? Why can’t I remember anything? After what felt like hours of rolling around, I forced myself out of bed. If my body hurts this much, I must have gone overboard drinking with Ha Na. Something must have possessed me to get wasted because I only have blackouts when I get wasted.I dragged myself to the bathroom wincing and hissing from how unnaturally bright my pink room was. With an i
Jung Group HQ.Third Person.Ae Ra adjusted the Chairman’s tie and gave him a quick look over. His calm grey eyes stared straight ahead of her as he patiently waited for her go-ahead signal. His greying hair was neatly combed back save for a few strands, which she quickly adjusted.Despite wearing a stern look, he had laugh lines deeply etched on his handsome face, which showed he lived a life filled with genuine laughter. He was dressed in a tailor-made black tuxedo that hugged his frame perfectly. She smiled in admiration as she took a step back. “You are all set, Chairman Jung.” She gave a little thumbs up with a toothy smile. With a deep exhale, Chairman Jung boldly walked into the room with his secretary, Ae Ra, hot on his tail. The executives and shareholders stood up in unison to greet him. She quickly took her place, standing just five paces behind him.“I’m glad everyone could attend the meeting despite it being impromptu.” Chairman Jung greeted them as he sat. The board foll
Jung Group HQ.Ae Ra’s POV.I forced myself to stand and pulled out my phone. With shaky hands, I dialled 119 but immediately ended the call. There were too many rumours flying around for an ambulance to come here. I called Him-Chan instead, Chairman Jung's Personal Assistant. If anyone knew what to do, it would be him. He picked on the first ring and I sent a silent thank you to God. "Please help. I-I don't know what to do." I sobbed."Miss Ae Ra? Slow down so I can understand you. What's wrong?" He asked, his baritone voice rid of emotion.I took deep breaths and steadied my breathing, having a breakdown right now wouldn't help the Chairman. "Chairman Jung, he was about to leave the meeting room but he lost consciousness," I responded as clearly as I could."Stay right there, don't call anyone else. I'll be right there." He hung up.I dropped beside the Chairman, "Please be alright, sir," I begged as I stared at his unmoving body. The rising and falling of his chest was the only thin
Lie Blu’s Apartment.Ae Ra’s POV.I jumped from the offensive sound of my alarm, it was unusually loud this morning. Scowling with my eyes still half-closed I searched for the stop button and slammed it aggressively with an irritated grunt. An action I regretted immediately as pain shot up my palm."Ouch!" I whined as I rubbed the spot. "Stupid alarm," I muttered as I rubbed my tired eyes.To think it was just yesterday that the Chairman told me he was terminally ill. To wake up one morning mad at your alarm clock only to find out that soon you won't need an alarm clock anymore because you'll be permanently resting.I got out of bed with a heavy heart. Life was so fickle, it makes me wonder... if I were to find out I had limited time left on earth, what would I do? I wondered as I got into the shower and turned the warm water on.Have I lived a happy life? Sure, I have a great job with a roof over my head and enough money to go on vacation if I need to but I wouldn't say I have a happy
Jung’s Mansion.Ae Ra’s POV."I was able to dissuade the shareholders from holding the meeting. I informed them of your absence and they agreed to reschedule the meeting but they were not pleased by this. The reporters are still out staking, but in due time they will have to leave." Him-Chan informed us as he took a stand next to Chairman Jung.He exhaled deeply. "Thank you, Him-Chan. You have been most helpful.""It's not a problem sir. The least I can do for you is do my job well." He cast a glance at me.I tried not to take offence at his accusatory tone because I understood how bad it looked. Thankfully, I was much better since we left the office. The anxiety that had swelled within me had reduced drastically and my head was clearer than ever."I understand how this looks and why you'd think I did my work poorly," I paused to stare at Him-Chan before refocusing my attention on Chairman Jung. "But, this was not my doing, sir."He looked away from me. "I want to believe that you woul

The entrance was lined with reporters from the biggest media houses. They took several photos per second and roared with hundreds of questions. The security team did their best to hold them back but they were too eager to take a closer look.Ji Won remained silent as he took in the scene in front of him. He had been photographed numerous times in secret but it was his first time standing before them. So these are the people behind every lie on the internet he thought to himself, his face turning sour.He placed his hand on the door handle, ready to get out of the car. He could not wait to escape the dreadful car ride he was forced to share with his father. Baek Jin would usually be the one to drive but his father had insis
Jung Group HQ.Ji Won’s POV."We deduced that there were moles in the company and investigated to sniff out both the moles and their employer. I won't disclose who they are but one confessed to everything and mentioned who their partner was. Aside from failed promises to protect and promote her, she was not getting any benefit from their employer.""And what about the article?" Mrs Kwon asked."We were able to speak with the reporter." I gestured to Baek Jin telling him to play the recording from our conversation with the reporter."I do not know what you're talking about, can I return to work now?" A defensive frightened voice said."Sir, you have to trust me. I am not here to harm you. We will not sue you if you confess to your crime." Him-Chan persuaded."I'll be let off the hook?" He asked, still unsure."Completely off the hook, you have my word," Him-Chan reassured. There was some silence and rummaging for a few seconds. "Here, this is a much safer place." The voice said.
