You Will Be Mine

"Are you out of your mind?" I snapped at Nick, not caring about the surroundings as the two guards sent by my father had taken care of the problem. It was now just the two of us surrounded by the quiet garden and the man's hand still gripping mine tightly.

Nick pulled me to sit back down, but I exerted my meager strength to stay standing. He finally let me. "I'm not crazy. I'm just expressing something I've been holding onto for a long time."

"Something you've been holding back? What do you mean it's a love you want to prove?" I frowned, not understanding his strange attitude. "We've known each other for eight years, Nick. I just considered you a friend and never considered having a special relationship with you."

"I know, but I wanted that to change after you wasted your time on a guy who didn't even like you," Nick spoke without a smile, staring at our intertwined hands as I tried to digest my situation. "You know that I'm always careful around you, right?"
