Chapter 39: Learning to be Independent

Mom and dad were still awake when I arrived home from Izzy and Gracelyn's.

"Where have you been? We've been worriwd aick for you." Mom asked immediately after giving me a hug.

"I went to the church but then I met Gracelyn their and we catched up."

Their faces shines up.

"So how was she? You should have told her to come visit."

I smiled at their cheerful reaction.

"She's fine. I invited her to your wedding anniversary and she said that she'll see if ahe.can attend".

They look a little bit disappointed but then they smiled.

"Good thing she didn't curse and shouts at you when she saw you." Mom mumbled.

"We met at the church. She was the one who looked out for me there. She said she already forgive me but I don't know if she still loves me or if I still has a place in her heart. She looks different now and I can feel that she isn't.the Gracelyn that I've met before. She has a strong personality now but same kind and caring attitude."

Mom rubbed my shoulders.

"Don't lose hop
