Chapter 29

The environment was calm and serene it didn't seem like a party was being held here however one thing that assured me we were at the right place was the multitude of cars lined up in front and none of them gave cheap.

I even spotted a white sports car parked in a corner and Ruth gave me a grin as if to say she was right. Nervousness consumed me but I alighted from the car regardless walking towards the entrance with the invites tightly clutched in my hands.

Two hefty men were situated by the door, wearing dark shades and not a hint of smile on their face. This further increased my anxiety but Ruth's presence behind me made it slightly better.

Coming to a stop several steps ahead I presented the invitation, the man snatched it from my hands running his eyes through for a moment before returning it to me, stepping aside. I almost breathed a sigh of relief but held myself together.

Ruth linked her arm in mine and together we walked through the dark corridors.
