Chapter Seventy-six

The next morning, some of Andrea's men arrived at his doorstep, their faces filled with a solemn look. They had news that struck Andrea deep in his heart, and he knew it would only bring further pain to his already hurt soul.

''Elena's father was buried yesterday.'' one of them said.

As the weight of this information settled upon him, a wave of emotions washed over him. He felt a deep sorrow, knowing that Elena still blamed him for her father's untimely death. He could imagine the pain etched on her face, the resentment that had woven itself into her soul. No matter what he did, it seemed that forgiveness would forever evade him.

Anger welled up within him, fueled by his own frustration and helplessness. He couldn't bear the thought of Elena carrying this burden of blame for the rest of her life, knowing that she would never find it in her heart to forgive him. The knowledge ate at his soul, tormenting him with its relentless grip.
