Confirming the logic– Flashback

Alex's POV

The flashback continues.

I was as cold as shit and didn't even bat an eyebrow. I was in the fire but wasn't affected by it because it's something I'm used to.

I pulled out my silver sword, which was dripping blood from the chest of a gamma of the all-brown pack, and his body fell to the floor. Then I caught sight of a kid passing through a secret door to escape. The fire was already heating up. Things were burning down and exploding. Everywhere was noisy to the extent that you wouldn't be able to hear what someone beside you was yelling, despite being werewolves.

As usual, I didn't waste my time and aimed my gun at her, still conscious of my surroundings and gripping my sword.

But just as I was about to press the trigger, she turned and saw me, and my fingers, which had already touched the trigger, froze immediately.

I couldn't bring myself to do anything. All I did was stare at her tear-stained face, blood-dripping nose, and ruined attire.
