She's not mentally stable

Alex's POV

Either Fenris was just being stupid, or she wasn't my mate. Maybe I should have told her to take off her shorts and panties to confirm.

I'm mysterious, I know. But if she turned out to be my mate, my dad would understand and let us keep her, mostly as she's still a kid.

I didn't have time for that. They would definitely come to check on me since I had spent too much time here.

"You can leave," I ordered, and she turned to head for the door.

"Stop," I stopped her immediately, and she froze on the spot, slowly turning to face me, her face pale.

"Use the window," I pointed to the window facing the ocean. That was her only way of escape, and she hadn't thought of it, even as a member of this pack. It was foolish of her to be heading for the door. Fenris wouldn't have spared a second before shooting her dead if she left through the door.

She turned around and began heading for the window, while I contemplated how she would cope with the child in the ocean with its strong waves.
