CHAPTER 2

Michael’s pov.

“I told you Mom, Don’t worry about me, I will be fine,” I said before hanging the call.

“What?” I asked, noticing that Noah was staring at me.

“Why don’t you do what she asked for, instead of making your mom worry about you like this,” he said.

“That woman will always find something to worry about, no matter if I get married now or not,” I sighed, unloosing my tie.

“Well, if you do as she asks, she will be off your neck for another six or seven years,” he smirked, taking a seat beside me.

“Get married then,” I spat.

“I’m not the one who is cursed by the moon goddess, I will find a mate when it’s time but you, my friend, have to find a lady who will lift the curse,” Noah said.

“I have been trying but all the ladies want is my money,” I sighed heavily, leaning back against my chair.

“And by trying you mean, fucking half the girls in the city,” he smirked.

I raised my hands in surrender “ I plead not guilty to that accusation,my lord.”

“Come on, I have lost count of all the girls you have been with since we moved here,” He said, crossing his hands together.

“I can’t help it that everybody finds me attractive,” I smirked.

“How about you start taking life more seriously and find a mate,” Noah said.

I frowned “It’s not my fault, I have to be punished for the sins of my father, if the moon goddess wants me mateless, then I am going to enjoy every bit of my single life,”

He sighed and looked at me, “A wolf is not complete without his better half, much less an Alpha, it does not tell well for our pack,”

I furrowed my brows, “My mom sent you to speak with me, did she not?” I asked.

“That’s not the point, Michael. I am worried about you, we all are,” he sighed.

“Why?” I questioned.

“Don’t you see that you have become more cold and distant, the curse has finally taken its effect and we have to find a mate for you before you become one of those Angry werewolves who latch out unnecessarily and become a maniac to our society,”

“So let’s say I want to find this girl. This girl who would come into my life and mysteriously lift the curse, where do I start from?” I asked.

“We start with that girl from last night, maybe she is the one that the moon goddess sent to free you from the curse. What happened last night was different from anything I have ever seen, it has to mean something special,” Noah pointed out.

I rolled my eyes at his statement, “Women want to get married to me all the time, it’s nothing special,”

“Maybe this one is different?”

“Different because she looks drunk and looks like she could be in bed instead of proposing her love to random strangers,”

Noah sighed adjusting his glasses, “I went through her file, and let me tell you she seemed pretty decent, the only odd thing about her profile is why is she dating an ex-convict who has been in and out of prison.”

“If she can’t make a good decision in dating a good partner, why should I trust she will be useful to me,”

“If you are willing to get to know her, you will have the opportunity to ask her why she dated that guy, I am guessing they broke up judging from her appearance last night,” Noah said.

I looked at him for a while considering the idea before shaking my head. “No, I don’t like her,”

“How would you know if you have not gotten to know her,” Noah said in frustration.

“She does not look like my usual type,” I said flatly.

“How about you give her a try, Michael?” he said.

“Nope, Don’t want her, she sounded too desperate,” I said.

“Okay what if we stop your mom from worrying about you, by introducing the girl from last night as your girlfriend and that you would love to settle down with her,” He explained, “That would save you a couple of years before she starts nagging you again,”

I leaned back on my chair, spinning my pen as I considered the idea.

“What is her name,” I asked after a while.

“ Sofeya Ortega,”

“Do you know where to find her?” I asked.

“Yes, in fact, I can take you to her now if you want,”

**************

We pulled up in front of the place where He said Sofeya would most likely be.

“Are you sure this is the place?” I asked.

“Yes,”

I took a quick look at myself in the side mirror before stepping out of the car. I walked towards the door but paused before knocking because my eyes caught sight of a letter on the ground. I picked it up and glanced through it. It was a notice addressed to Sofiya, telling her to vacate the house if she could not pay the rent before Friday.

I put the paper into my pocket and knocked on the door, but it was another girl who answered.

“Who are you? This is supposed to be Sofiya’s home,” I asked, confused, or had Noah made a mistake?

“Oh! This is her home and I am her best friend,” she answered.

“Is Sofiya home?”I asked.

She nodded and then called out, “Someone wants to see you,”

Sofeya came to the door and once she saw me all the blood ran out of her face as if she had seen a ghost.

“Is everything alright?”Her friend asked, seeing Sofiya’s reaction.

“Uh.., I did…” she stammered, “I was not expecting you to come see me,”

“Don’t tell me you no longer want to marry me,” I smirked, “because that would be very heartbreaking to hear, after going through all this stress to find you, only to get rejected.”

“I…..” she stuttered, unable to believe I was standing in front of her.

“Marry me,”
