Chapter 2- The prophecy

Alpha Kade's POV

I paced angrily around my room. It was getting late. When was that damned old man going to be here?

I looked at my watch; it was past 2pm. He was supposed to be here by 2pm on the dot.

"Kade."

The door opened gently and I whipped my head around. My mother, Lady Artemis, stood at the door, in her expensive robe. She looked beautiful and tall as Alpha blood coursed through her veins.

"You have been pacing around for a while now. Relax, the seer will be here. No need to get worked up over nothing."

I scoffed and turned away from her.

"He should be hanged for being late. That old fool."

I heard her chuckle behind me.

"Feisty, just like your father.

She stood behind me as we waited. It felt like hours and soon there was a knock at my door. The handle didn't click open, but instead, the voice spoke audibly from the other side.

"Alpha Kade, the seer is here. He is waiting in the main hall."

I looked at my watch, 2:30pm. That old man was going to pay for keeping me waiting for this long. I had other business to attend to.

I stormed out and my mother followed behind me. We walked to the main hall and I saw him waiting there for me along with Kylie, my sister.

"Alpha Kade, it is..."

He suddenly began to choke and cough as I grabbed his neck and lifted him off the ground. I squeezed harder, taking pleasure in watching him writhe in pain.

"Alpha... please..."

His voice was hoarse and fading slowly. I continued to squeeze harder and watched as his face became bluer and bluer as the life was squeezed out of him. If I squeezed a little harder, I would...

"Kade, enough."

My mother's voice echoed in the empty hall and I dropped the seer to the ground. He fell to my feet, clutching his throat and couging terribly.

"Never be late again. Do you understand? I don't care if you are 250 years old. If I say that you should be here by 2pm, you should be here by 2pm. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes Alpha," he manged to reply, still holding onto his neck which had turned all red from the pressure I instilled in it.

I smirked at him as he wobbled to his feet.

"Now, what about my mate? When will I find her?"

He reached into his bag, avoiding eye contact with me, and pulled out a blue gem stone.

"The Goddess has said that you will find your mate soon. Her eyes will be as blue as this."

He placed the gem in my hand I began to lick my lips in desire. She would probably be beautiful and strong; the perfect Luna for an Alpha like me.

"How soon?" I asked impatiently.

"She did not say, Alpha Kade. She however did give a warning."

I raised my eyesbrow in surprise and so did my mother and sister.

"Warning? What warning?"

The seer took a few steps back and stared me deep into the eyes. His old grey eyes, locked onto my golden ones.

"The mate that you shall get, you mustn't reject her under any circumstances. Doing so will bring disaster to both you and the entire pack."

I stared at the seer for a while and then bursted into laughter. Was he being serious? Was this some kind of joke?

"What is this? A comedy show?" I said in between chuckles.

"If she is as beautiful as this gem stone then I see no reason why I should reject her. I need a poweful Luna to rule by my side. Now, if you are done with your tom-foolery, I suggest that you get out."

The seer gave a deep bow and left. I gave one last chuckle and turned to my mother.

"Can you believe that old, raggedy, fool?"

My mother chuckled for a while and soon she looked at me sternly.

"As much as I despise him, we must be careful not to offend the Goddess. You will find your mate soon, like he said. We must keep our blood line alive."

I nodded. I knew what was at stake. We had very many enemies and we would never relinquish power to any of them.

"What about Dahlia?" asked Kylie with a smirk.

"What will you do about her once you find your mate? Are you just going to kick her to curb?"

I growled at Kylie and she stepped back in fear.

"I don't want to hear a peep from you! Need I remind you that I am the Alpha. Dahlia is none of your business. And besides, who said I can't have the both of them?"

My lips curled into a sinister smirk as I walked away.

I was the most powerful Alpha in the entire region. No one would dare to defy me.

I took a turn and was about to head to my room when I was stopped by a guard.

"Excuse me, Alpha Kade. You have a letter from Alpha Draco of the moon Crest pack"

I looked at the servant in disgust and snatched the letter away from him. I tore it open and my eyes danced across the letters on the page.

I smiled in satisfaction, Alpha Draco was hosting a part to celebrate the anniversery of our treaty.

I laughed with mirth, it is indeed very wise of Draco. It had been barely three years since we almost wiped them out of existence.

We finally came to an agreement and now his pack was a subordinate pack. The taste of power was divine.

"Give this to my Beta. Tell him to draft a reply to this and that I would be very delighted to be in attendance for this party."

The servant nodded and in a flash, he was gone.

I headed up to my room. I needed to rest. I had been busy all day with pack matters.

I opened the door and found Dahlia in my bed–beautifully naked, I smiled.

"What are you doing here?"

She smiled back and walked seductively towards me. Her breasts were a feast to the eyes as the bounced with life with each step she took.

Imagine a Luna more beautiful than her. It was a dream come true.

"Nothing," she said seductively. "I just thought that you might need to have your stress relieved."

She bit her lower lip and ran her hands down the my shirt gently, stopping just inches away from my bulge.

I put my finger under her chin and tilted her head up to face mine. I licked my lips in desire as I savoured every bit of her. My voice was laced with testosterone. I wanted her buried beneath me, moaning my name.

"Well, in that case, get back into bed..."
