Hilda

The young girl who lives with the old woman always goes out at night. I don’t think she sleeps in with us, and I am suspecting the old woman sometimes doesn’t sleep here most nights.

I had woken up a couple of times in the night, snapped at the young girl, and wouldn’t see her on her bed. She barely talked except when she was instructed by the old woman to give me the jar of my medication, the herbal concoction.

I sat on the grass, not very far from the cave where we stayed, listening to the chirping sounds of birds while looking up at the sky, praying for the moon goddess to hear my prayers and return my senses to me.

I could hear the howling sounds of hunting wolves, and everywhere in the bush there was a combination of different scents lingering under my nose.

"Hilda Storm." A voice called that name in my head. I snapped around and jumped up to go and tell the woman the name that struck my head. She had told me that anytime I remembered anything or a name, I should not fail
