It has been over an hour since Avalor left to be with his guests, and I kept hearing their voices. It looks like they are fighting or something. I wouldn’t say I was not annoyed when the guard mentioned a woman looking for Avalor.

I quickly shook that off my mind; after all, we are not couples. I agreed with him to just stay here and give birth to my pups after I leave the kingdom.

Doorbell rang

I wiped my face, slouched to the door, and twisted the handle open.

"Hilda, there is something I want to tell you!" Avalor slipped in, breathing so fast and tensed. I turned to him in curiosity and shut the door.

He inched closer to me and grabbed my hands, and my body began trembling. He fixed his gaze into my eyes, and that got me more uncomfortable. I could see his eyes all soaked in tears, and yet no drop of it fell on his cheek.

"What is Avalor?" I questioned, breaking the silence that enveloped the room.

He brushed his chest against mine and wrapped his hands around my waist, and
