Chapter 33
Justin called Valerie later in the day, he informed her that they had a party to attend. It was like a congratulatory party to celebrate the merging of the companies and their marriage as well. Valerie would have refused but she couldn't.
She went home after work and got dressed in a beautiful black gown and Justin looked dashing in the suit he was putting on and they drove to the venue. It was a beautiful garden filled with important guests and great men of the society with their wives apparently. Valerie felt awkward sitting there because she had no one to talk to. Every important man and woman came to wish them well on their marriage and most of them talked to Justin alone. Valerie decided to explore the place while Justin talked to all those who wished to talk to him, with each of them bringing different alcohols with them and Justin drinking each glass he was offered.
Justin drank till his eyes were tired and couldn't anymore.
