The drive back to Zac’s house was quiet because there was nothing to talk about. Hailey just kept staring at her hand as they approached his house.

Zac didn’t know if he offended her by the way he acted in the hospital but there was nothing else he could do. The doctor was doing too much and it just got on his last nerves.

He still felt that Hailey might be upset at him for their outburst so he thought of apologizing to her to Let her know that he didn’t mean it. Even if he did mean deep down that Hailey was for him and belonged to no other person, he still didn’t want to make her uncomfortable.

He already made her understand the reason why he felt that her staying with him was the best idea for this while was because of her safety. So he didn’t want her to think it was all for selfish interest.

Although he cared about her and he wanted her, he had to be very slow and steady and that was not the way to go about it.
