Hailey's POV

When you see mighty men fall like birds that have been shot by flying arrows, you begin to lose faith in all you've ever known.

Tears fell from my eyes and the line blurred between what was tears and what was sweat. Whatever happened before melted from my memories and the only fear of the unknown I experienced at that moment was fear of losing Zac. Despite the fact that I am pregnant, I did not care about anything else than getting Zac to safety.

No sooner than I let my screams fill the air, I heard footsteps echoing through the basement.

“Oh, great heavens!” a face ever so familiar greeted me, along side people who I've met before but I probably don't remember.

“Zac… he…” I couldn't even manage to complete my sentence before I burst into tears again.

“Don't worry child. Let's get him to safety first.” This woman whose name I can't remember smileg at me and she signalled to two heavily built men to carry Zac. I remembered that she worked as one of the head maid
