Scarlett’s POV

But as I examined the gash on my leg, the reality of my situation became undeniable. The pain seared through me, both physical and emotional, intertwining into an agonizing symphony. I pressed my hand against the wound, hoping to stem the flow of blood, to regain some semblance of control.

The pain in my leg throbbed relentlessly, but another fear began to claw at the edges of my mind—an insidious worry that made my heart skip a beat. Could this blood signify something more?
