Chapter Forty seven:

Damian took the box for the first time since he entered the court. His eyes were glued to Maya's as he was swearing by the Holy book brought before him. Maya's eyes reared up immediately but she quickly blinked them away. This wasn't the time to cry, it was the time to fight. To make sure Amanda didn't succeed.

With that in mind, Maya flashed him a reassuring smile with a slight nod.

"Mr. Makari do you know this woman here?" Damian's lawyer pointed to Amanda.

"No." Damian replied firmly. His fingers balled into tights fists. He was going to make her pay when he got out from her. He was going to make sure she would fall at his feet and beg him to spare her.

"Do you remember her working for you?"

"No"

"Can you tell the court was happened that night?"

"My wife had been admitted to the hospital because she was shot. I went home feeling frustrated so I grabbed a bottle of alcohol and went to my room. All my employees aren't allowed into my room and they know that. So I got drunk and I
