Confused, I pulled her away from me. "I don’t understand, Amanda. Please tell me; it all doesn’t seem to make sense to me." I told her as I stared at her, while she had a little smile on her face that seemed to please me.

"It’s true; I feel bad that my existence was a lie, but you know, while I slept, she came to me." She said it with a pained smile on her face.

She turned to me, smiling slightly, and I still couldn’t place my hands on what was going on. Was she happy, sad, or what? It all seemed like she was ambivalent at this point, and it scared me. Was she going mad?

"I don’t understand, Amanda. Tell me, what’s going on with you?" I asked her as I cupped her face in my hands, and her little face felt so cold that it sent shivers down my spine.

She smiled and said, "You only did this to protect me. Mother told me this; she told me everything. You don’t have to worry. I’m so sorry that I got you that worried the whole night. I never meant for it to happen, but I had to come to terms
