Chapter 149

It felt like every single part of my body had stopped functioning; it felt like I was a patient who had just suffered a stroke, and I didn’t understand any more; I just didn’t. I stared at him, shocked, as he ran off with Eva, and I held on to my chest. What was I thinking? What came over me when I let him put his hands around me?

I swallowed in shame as I turned away, tears streaming down my cheeks. I had made a complete fool of myself, a complete mockery.

I was still in tears after I locked the door behind me when suddenly there was a knock on the door. "Just go away; I don’t want to speak to anybody." I said this in tears as I closed my eyes tightly.

"Amanda, it’s me, Tristan. Open the door for me at least, please." He told me as he continued to knock on the door.
