Chapter 155

JASON’s POV…

After hearing that she was badly winded, I couldn’t think straight, not anymore at least, and as I ran to the commanders’ store room, the place where I learned that she was, I could no longer feel my heart beat.

What was she even doing there, and how did she get there? After the last time that she’d been hit on the head, I knew for sure that it must have been a conspiracy. I wanted to take it up, but then she refused, and I knew it was because she didn’t want me to end the life of the person who’d done it to her.

I could not feel my heart; it was like it had jumped right out of my chest as I ran, and the moment I got to the store, the very place where I was told she was, I pushed the door open, expecting to hear her screams of pain, but I didn’t hear any.

I walked into the dark room when suddenly the door behind me was locked, and before I could even turn, I felt hands over me—the only hands I ever wanted and the only ones that could ever make me happy—and I sighed.
