"So, let me get this straight," Keir chuckled. "Your mother wants you to marry Yvonne, and the only Yvonne I know is your secretary. Is it your secretary?"

Hardin, with an exasperated expression, nodded. "Yes, it's absurd, isn't it? She seems to think that Yvonne is the perfect match for me instead of June."

Keir couldn't contain his laughter any longer, his voice echoing through the room. "I can't believe she chose your secretary of all people! Seems to me like she was trying to get on your nerves."

Hardin's frustration was palpable as he replied, "Well she succeeded if that was her mission because I fired Yvonne afterward."

Keir laughed some more before he wiped away a tear from his eye, still amused by the situation. "This is classic matchmaking gone wrong. I wish I had seen your face when she told you."

Hardin stared at Keir as he shook his head, his lips curling into a smile as he laughed out. It was a serious issue but looking at it from Keir's perspective it was funny no doubt.
