Chapter 17 – Should I go?

Sitting alone in the house, while Emmett went off to work the following morning; Simone didn’t know what to do with herself. She thought through her options. ‘Leona has been neglecting her obligations. Maybe I need to catch up with some of her emails.’

Moving to the spare room; she pulls out the laptop and phone before heading back out to the living area. Opening her emails; the invitation to banquet was staring her in the face. ‘Since Emmet is being sent out of town; should I go to the banquet? It’s to raise money for the children’s hospital’ Simone contemplates to herself.

There was a confirm here button on the email and Simone was hesitant to hit it. “What’s wrong with me? I have never been tentative in accepting or declining an invitation before” she murmurs under her breath.

She decides to give the idea some more thought before making the final decision and moves to the next email; displaying gowns for the upcoming winter collection from Lively Design Studio.
