Chapter 72

I lifted my half-bowed face as I was about to pass the entrance because someone said my name. My eyes widened in shock and disbelief at what I saw; now, standing before me was a man from my past.

"Phillip," I say almost in a whisper. I don't know how to act, but all my feelings for him are gone, and I'm just surprised to meet him here.

"Hi, you look different."

He smiled with a smile that was still the same as before; it had been one of my favourites, but now it felt normal. I introduced Sean to him; Sean just smiled politely, and then I gave Phillip an excuse to leave immediately.

"I hope we can meet again another time," he said before we parted. Sean returned my hand and headed to his Mercedes Benz, parked in the restaurant parking lot. I put the pizza in the centre seat of the car, then buckled my seatbelt.

"Who's he?"

I sighed. I didn't want to talk about Phillip, but Sean already asked.

"Just an old friend."
