A Beast

Marcus and I were welcomed by the scene of Alice being raised from the ground and Alpha Galan's hand wrapped around her neck. The lass gasped for air, pleading to be spared but all her pleas fell on deaf ears.

The gatekeeper was terrified by the scene and passed out. I was terrified as well but I didn't move an inch. My eyes were shaking, threatening to fall from its socket. Marcus, on the other hand, was surprised by the impulsive turn of things.

"What did Alice do to deserve this?" I whispered to Marcus who turned to face me.

"She must have provoked him. Please, girl, go inside while I speak to Alpha Galan." Marcus said, trying to safeguard me but I was being persistent and didn't want to leave.

He kept on insisting that I should go but I stood my ground.

"I'm the mate of a dangerous Alpha and only I can speak some sense into him," I said in confidence as Marcus was surprised by my proclamation. He sighed in defeat, leaving me all alone to witness the horrific scene in front of me.
