Chapter 20 : The Heat Between Them

Feeling torn, I paced around my home office. I knew I had no right to refuse to let Sara date. She could date whoever she wanted; she was an adult. But I would stick to doing real background checks and be much more careful when I let her out of the house.

I wanted to keep her here where I knew she was safe and I could watch her–protect her. But there was no way I could do that to her. She would object, and most likely try to sneak out and get herself in worse trouble. No, f*ck that. I wouldn't let her risk her life like that. I sighed, exacerbated. I wanted her so f*cking bad, I wanted to keep her safe, always under my watchful eye. I didn't know how to do that in a way she wouldn't object to. She was always so quick to risk her life for the illusion of 'freedom.' I rolled my eyes.
