167 Being Outplayed

It was a long time before Grace returned to the hall.

By then, the hall was empty, the previous liveliness all but gone, with only a few staff members cleaning up.

She walked over to one of the cleaners and asked, "Excuse me, has the banquet ended?"

The cleaner seemed surprised. "Yes, it's over. Everyone has left."

"Everyone? Mr. Morgan too?"

The cleaner chuckled. "Of course, the banquet is over, so everyone has left."

Grace frowned, her chest feeling as if it were stuffed with cotton.

She had been outplayed by Emily once again.

Emily's words successfully redirected all the anger toward her.

Yes, it was true that she had locked the restroom door, but Emily delayed her long enough. By the time she finally managed to get away and return, Logan Morgan had already left.

He had always played the role of a loving husband in public, never once leaving her behind.

She pulled out her phone and called Logan Morgan.

He answered quickly. "Hello?"

"Darling," Grace said softly, "where are you now?"
