Chapter 2: Everything will be okay

Sunny's POV

My first class will start at 10 AM. I went to school this early just to go to the library and fill my brain with so much knowledge I can take. Well, it was just 8 in the morning and I know, staying in the house with dad is not easy. I am somehow scared of him, okay. His presence intimidates me. I just couldn't stand on his military's aura that's why.

Since it's too early. I just bought a coffee outside the campus and planned to drink this before entering the library. Food and drinks are not allowed inside the campus library though.

Students from different levels and courses were scattered everywhere. I am just walking in the pathway, joining the other's trail until the tragedy happened.

An idiot just dived into me. The force made the two of us fell hard on the floor. I was underneath him and I must say his weight is not easy to endure. He's too heavy!

Maybe I'm a bit lucky for having a not-too-hot coffee since it splashed into my uniform not to mention that it's white.

Instead of complaining, my eyes were locked to his eyes for a couple of seconds. It was like a whirlpool that hypnotized me. The gray color of it made him somehow unique plus the two thick eyebrows which gave him a bad boy look. He's handsome. No doubt!

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" He uttered and stoop up. Good thing, he helped me stood on my feet too. What a good guy.

"Remember this face! Let me make up for you next time. I just need to go, sorry." He said and ran away again. He seemed in a hurry. Maybe someone is following him and my speculation was right upon seeing two guys running after him. What's the problem?

I just shook my head and took all my things that scattered on the floor. I need to go home. I can't continue to linger around with this kind of state. A shower is a must since my skin got a little sticky because of the coffee.

It didn't take much time to go back home. I just rode a taxi and paid for it after the ride.

My eyebrows furrowed upon seeing an unfamiliar car parked on the sidewalk. Are there any visitors today? Mom's friends? Dad's colleagues? I don't know. I need to step inside to know who's in the house today.

I just entered the front yard and meters away from the front door when I heard a loud thud. Mom scream followed.

"Zander, please! Stop!" Mom cried.

My toes have shaken up and it felt like I'm about to lose all my strength.

"I don't have a gay son! Get out of here before I lose all my control, Simon! Don't ever come back if you will bring that guy with you again!" Dad yelled which made my tears instantly fall from my eyelids.

It was my brother Simon.

After I heard Dad, Simon showed up at the front door. Tears kept on falling from both sides of his eyes. He was shocked of seeing me here.

My eyes went to the guy standing behind him. I could see the sadness on his face. I know he was trying hard not to burst into tears as well. He seemed to be a nice and respected guy. He's handsome and has a nice body build like my brother. I felt bad for both of them.

Simon walked straight towards me. He hugged me tight so I hugged him back even tighter. He held both of my shoulders and looked into my eyes.

"I don't know how long would I be away from you and mom. Just don't forget to message me on my social media accounts, okay? I'll come back if everything's fine. Just always remember," He paused and brushed his tears with his palm. "There is nothing wrong with being gay. We just want to be loved and love somebody." Then Simon kissed my forehead. "Be strong, Sunny. Life is too cruel to deal with. Be strong." Then he held the guy's hand and looked at me again.

"He's Tanner. My boyfriend." He said and I could tell how happy he was upon introducing the love of his life to me. It made me happy as well. "We gotta go. Take care, my little brother." Then they left us.

I just guided them with my sight until their car vanished.

When I turned to look at the house, mom and dad were standing at the entrance. Mom was crying silently beside my dad while him, I couldn't sense any regrets on his face. Dad is dad. He said what he said and it's final.

...

I don't know how my class ended. My brain was floating all around my skull. I just can't focus right now.

I'm glad it is my last subject and I need to go home. But going home reminded me of the scene that happened this morning. I just don't want to go home.

After putting all my books in the locker, I walked straight out of the campus. Since I didn't enjoy my coffee this morning, I want to grab some and enjoy my spare time alone.

The Gelato Coffee shop is the only coffee shop I buy my coffee most of the time. They have my favorite coffee flavors and the ambiance of the shop is too good to relax. They also have a mini library where I can read some fictional novels and love stories. This place is one of the best that's why I love going here.

When I entered the coffee shop, I strode towards the counter and ordered my favorite caramel latte. I was about to pay it when someone lends his money and paid for my coffee.

"I knew it was you! I have a nice instinct, huh! Let me pay for your coffee this time. My fault this morning. I am sorry, man." He said and bowed down.

"It's fine. No worries. Also, thanks for this." I said and took my coffee.

I stopped after seeing the bruise under the left corner of his lips.

"Where did you get them? Wait. I have some bandaids here. Let just find our seat first." I told him and led the way.

I plopped down the chair and put all my things on the table. I settled the coffee and searched the thing inside my bag. Good thing, I brought my small first aid kit with me.

"Wow. Boyscout, huh?" He said while grinning.

"Dad trained me to. He's an army." I said then moved my shoulders.

"I see." He said.

I took one bandaid and applied it to his wound.

"Don't move," I told him as I'm applying it carefully.

"Thanks. You have a gentle hand." He uttered. I just winked.

I went back to my seat and sipped on my coffee. "Aren't you going to order a coffee for yourself?"

He shook his head. "Not into coffees. I love milk tea instead of them."

"They sell milk teas too!" I suggested.

"Not in a mood to drink though." He replied.

"Ah, okay. Hmm, can I ask who was following you this morning? Did they give you that bruise?" I said and pointed to the bandaid on his lip.

He shook his head. "The guys who were running before me were my dad's employees and dad told them to look after me. Dad wants me to stay with this girl, Cassandra. I didn't want to so I ran away that's why I bumped to you. Sorry again for that." He shyly narrated and brushed his head using his right hand.

"Don't tell me you got your bruise just by bumping at me? You didn't land on the floor, don't you?" Cause as far as I remember, he landed on me.

He laughed like a little kid. He's so cute, damn!

"My father punched me that's why I got this!" He said while pointing at his bruise.

"And you still laughing because of it?"

"There are only two choices to choose with. Would I cry all day or laugh about it. I rather choose to be crazy than to be a cry baby." He replied.

"Why did he punched you?" It just reminded me of my brother.

"Because I'm an asshole—hey? What's with the sudden tears?"

I hurriedly wiped off my tears. "Sorry. I just remembered something sad."

"Wait." He took something inside his pocket. It was a handkerchief. He gave it to me.

"Take this. Whatever that's bothering you, just always remember that everything will be okay."

"Thank you."

"Anyway, I'm Parker Wingston." He said and offered me his hand for a handshake. I took it.

"I'm Sunny Feliciano." and I'm glad I met him today.
